The Lash is a concept club/bar/performance/ and social space located in the historic core of Downtown Los Angeles. For the inaugural issue of The Lash Journal, the theme of “wish you were here” was selected. The statement was then translated to Russian as, “if you were here,” a way to formally address a crowd. We shared and discussed the idea with a group of artists and creatives whose work speaks to the theme. Each contributor was asked to react, interpret and express the theme in relation to their own practice. The resulting dialogue was compiled and documented in this issue of The Lash Journal.
